The coveted Readers Choice Award comes from the prestigious pulitzer winning Los Angeles Downtown News, known globally for it’s investigative journalism, ability to scoop other established news media such as The Los Angeles Times and even Twitter. Readers choose Bolt Barbers as Best Barbershop of Downtown Los Angeles for the first time in 2011, disappointingly voting a “Groovy” Portland Unisex Salon Chain in a nearby hotel as Best Barbershop in 2010.
